OPPATH

To close the opportunity gap for African youth by connecting them to meaningful opportunities.

Bridge the Gap from Graduation to Career

Unlock access to the professional world. We provide urban youth with structured internships, verifiable experience, and expert mentorship to help them thrive in today’s labor market. Start building your professional network and gain the practical skills employers demand.

Purpose

The primary target audience is youth aged 18–30 years, both male and female, predominantly located in urban centers. English is the primary language of communication. The target group largely comprises low-income youth earning between USD 0 and 100 per month, with education levels ranging from diploma to undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications. This group faces limited access to structured internship opportunities, practical work experience, and professional networks required for successful entry into the labour market. They seek platforms that provide employable skills, field-specific mentorship, and exposure to real-world work environments. Their key needs include access to internships linked to academic and career pathways, practical skills development aligned with labour market demand, mentorship from experienced professionals, opportunities to gain verifiable work experience, and mechanisms to build professional networks that improve employability outcomes.

The secondary target audience consists of public and private sector partners seeking access to talented youth with relevant, employable skills, as well as partners looking for innovative and practical solutions to complex organizational challenges. These partners face operational and efficiency gaps that require well-designed, evidence-based solutions to improve performance and service delivery. The initiative provides a platform through which organizations can engage skilled youth to contribute fresh perspectives, technical support, and problem-solving capacity while strengthening organizational efficiency. This group includes employers, private sector entities, NGOs, development partners, academic institutions, and innovation hubs.
